Representatives of the Forum Javea patronage participated in the event organized by the Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid, which has enjoyed financial support from the State Secretariat of the European Union, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Institut Europeu de a Mediterrània (IEMED).

The seminar took place last December 10 and 9, at the headquarters of the Economic and Social Council (CES) of Madrid, and collaborated in the same the Real Instituto Elcano and the Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Brussels.

This activity is a result of the implementation of the Platform for Co-Mediterranean (MEDCOP), another Nebrija University initiative, in collaboration with CEPS in Brussels and has, among others, representing  of autonomic  Valencian institutions.

MEDCOP is a platform for debate and discussion on the prospects of a new co-Mediterranean as an engine of economic integration, which arises from the Group of Economic Analysis and Forecasting (GPAEI) of the Nebrija University, which aims at analyzing and support for the Barcelona process and now the newborn Union for the Mediterranean.

The opening session was chaired by Marcos Pena, President of the Spanish Economic and Social Council, the minister Ahmed Lahlimi High Commissioner's Plan of Morocco; Fidel Sendagorta, General Manager of Foreign Policy for the Mediterranean, North Africa and Middle East, the Spanish Ministry Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; Senén Florensa IEMED President, Karel Lanoo, CEPS General Manager , Brussels; and Gustavo Suarez Perierra, Real Instituto Elcano Chairman from Spain.

nebrija_.jpg The seminar had the participation of personalities and representatives of diplomatic corps of the various Mediterranean countries, experts in the fields of new competition, especially from Think-tanks in South and East Mediterranean, business associations, trade unions, NGOs and representatives from the world of trade promotion, innovation, environment and the new "green competitiveness".
